Lena Marie Yosha, aged 96 passed away Sunday, July 22nd. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana June 1, 1922 and although she lived in many places over the course of her life, she always considered Indianapolis her home.

Lena lived a rich and full life and will dearly be missed by all she touched. Following her graduation from Charles E. Manual Training High School in 1940, Lena worked in sales at G.C. Murphy’s. In 1950, she married Morris Yosha and devoted her life to her marriage and raising her two children. Like so many women of her generation, she returned to work in the late 1960’s and enjoyed a full and long career working until she was 80. Several years after the death of her husband Morris, she left her longtime home in Hallandale Florida and lived with her daughter Sheryl and her family in Plano, Texas. Those years were the highlight of her golden years. She loved to be surrounded by her family and they loved having her and her life came full circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morris Yosha, parents Giuseppe (Bob) and Anna (Annie) and brother Joe Filicicchia. She is survived by her children Sheryl Ashby and Michael Yosha (Mary) and her grandchildren Felicia Windland (Joshua), Corrie Howell and Joshua Tabler as well as her great grandchildren Ashton, Kyndal and Gavin Howell and Sophie Windland.

The visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday July 26 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 9:45 am on Friday, July 27 at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church beginning at 10:30 am. The burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
