Walter E. Williams

Walter E. Williams, 83, of Indianapolis passed away October 8, 2016. He was born in Lima, Ohio on February 15, 1933 to Samuel and Catherine (Gorman) Williams. Walter was a graduate of Howe High School and Xavier University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He began his professional career with Shell Oil Company and later established a successful business partnership with his brother Don. They operated a retail gasoline business and real estate business. Walter was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Eleanor (Mullooly); children, Cathy (Tom) Henninger, Anne (Dave) Okerson, Patty (Tim) Luttrell, and John (Mary Lou) Williams; sister, Connie; brother, Don; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home where morning prayers will be said on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
