Charles Dean Johnson, 47, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis on December 10, 1968 to Charles William and Grethel M. Rexroat Johnson. Dean was a 1987 graduate of Perry Meridian High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He worked as an underwriter for Stonegate Mortgage. Dean became a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church on September 3, 2000 after becoming active in the church through the Sports and Rec Ministry on August 14, 2000. He faithfully served in many roles in the church over the years including, Middle School Volunteer, group leader; High School Volunteer; Prayer Counselor on Sundays; Bibleopolis, children’s ministry leader; Camp Allendale, counselor/leader; Men’s Braveheart; and Youth Sports. Dean impacted hundreds of students over years of committed service and the ministry to children and students has never been the same since his arrival. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother, David Johnson (Sandy); and his nephews, Zachary and Aaron. Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Christian Church, 381 N. Bluff Rd., Greenwood, IN 46142 with funeral services being conducted at the church on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Mount Pleasant Christian Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at orileyfuneralhome.com.
