Paul Michael "Mike" McCalip

April 7, 1947 — May 30, 2022

Paul Michael “Mike” McCalip, age 75 of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. Mike was born on April 7, 1947, in Indianapolis to Robert Palmer and Vinco Lloyd Perry McCalip.

He served his county in the Army National Guard.

Mike worked for the City of Indianapolis as a building inspector for several years and later worked for Perry Township Schools as a bus driver. He enjoyed watching and cheering on the Chicago Cubs, the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and cooking (always enough for everyone).

Mike is survived by his children Mike McCalip, Erin Shepard and Christin Wright, brother Robert P. McCalip, grandchildren Ella McCalip, Carolyn McCalip, Jacob Shepard, Taylor Shepard and Alison Wright, nephew Chance McCalip. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Nancy Jo Atherton McCalip.

Visitation to celebrate Mike’s life will be Friday, June 3 from 10 – 11 AM at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. A private graveside will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
