Rebeccah Anne Glass Lowe, a beloved wife, mother, and educator, passed away on October 14, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, after fighting brain cancer. Born on June 25, 1983, in the same city that would cradle her dreams and passions, she illuminated the lives of those around her with an unwavering spirit and zest for life.
A graduate of Center Grove High School, Rebeccah continued to pursue her passions at Indiana University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Museum Studies followed by a master’s in education. Her dedication to learning laid the foundation for her rewarding career as a teacher, where she inspired countless students during her time at both Scecina Memorial High School and Indiana Creek High School. Rebeccah was not just a teacher; she was a historian, sharing her passion for knowledge and nurturing young minds.
In addition to her teaching career, Rebeccah displayed a vibrant personality through her love for soccer and her involvement with the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library. She hosted a podcast for teachers, connecting with fellow educators and engaging in the joys and challenges of teaching. Her proudest accomplishments were not merely professional but profoundly personal, woven into the fabric of her family life.
Rebeccah’s heart belonged to her family, who are left to cherish her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joshua Lowe, and their two sons, Maxwell and Malcolm Lowe, who brought her immense joy and purpose. Her father, Dennis Glass, and her brother, Robert Glass, also survive her, carrying forward the spirit of an extraordinary woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
Rebeccah is welcomed in heaven by her deceased mother, Nancy Burdett Oeder, who surely embraces her with love.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects during the visitation at O’Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 47227 on October 18, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Rebeccah's life will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church, 1709 E. Harrison Street, Martinsville, IN 46151 on October 19, 2024, at 11 AM, bringing together friends and family to honor a woman who graced their lives with love, laughter, and endless encouragement. Burial will follow at the St. Martin Cemetery. The family will continue celebrating Rebeccah's life with a celebration at the Foxcliff Manor House, 4041 N Foxcliff Dr. E. Martinsville, IN 46151, following the burial.
