Christina E. Tebbe

Christina E. Tebbe, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her home. Born in Indianapolis on January 17, 1952, Chris was the daughter of the late Matthew John Eckrich, Jr. and Mary Helen (Coomes) Eckrich; her mother survives and resides in Greenwood.

Chris was a 1970 graduate of Our Lady of Grace Academy. She earned her A.S.N. from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 1974 and proudly worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. In 1994 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in religious studies from The College of Mount St. Joseph. She was currently employed at Indiana University Health, Methodist Hospital for more than 20 years. A devout Catholic, Christina was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church for over 40 years where she served countless hours leading Bible Study, singing in the choir and participating in religious formation.

Along with her father, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Teresa Eckrich.

Other survivors include her children, Rev. Matt J. (Sharon) Tebbe of Fishers, Dr. Maria A. (Ronnie) Bajuyo of Greenwood, and Beth (Don) Sheppard of St. Paul, Indiana; her siblings, Catherine B. (John) Walter of West Melbourne, Florida, Matthew J. Eckrich, III of Muncie, Mark R. (Nancy) Eckrich of Easley, South Carolina, Thomas M. (Patricia) Eckrich of Indianapolis, C. Kevin (Janice) Klaiber of Indianapolis, and Betsy (Ashly Insco) Glowinski of Greenwood; her sister-in-law, Denise Stone of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Noah, Maggie, Deacon, Teddy, Auggie, Celeste, Eleanor, Louie, and Cecilia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Christina Tebbe from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. Additional calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
