Donald R. Reed

Donald R. Reed, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away March 21, 2019 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. Born in Indianapolis on November 5, 1951, Don was the son of the late, Russell and Mary (Diekhoff) Reed and they preceded him in death. On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to Cathryn A. (Bell) Reed and she survives.

A dedicated, talented mechanic, Don owned and operated Reed Automotive on the southside of Indianapolis for many years. He was well known and respected in his work community. He was humble, caring, kind hearted and always willing to give a helping hand. Don loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished forever.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Cathy; his children, Russell W. (Janna) Reed of Seymour, Nicole R. Jordan of Indianapolis, Courtney J. (Jim) Clements of Indianapolis, Jacob A. Reed of Indianapolis, and Kaitlin B. Reed of Indianapolis; two brothers, David L. (Karen) Reed of New Palestine, and John T. (Brenda) Reed of Martinsville; his sister, Janice L. (Garry) Hougland of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Olivia, Ellie, Lucas, Samuel, Caroline, and Caleb.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Don Reed from Noon until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis.
