Gina Marie Calabris

Gina Marie Calabris, 53 of Indianapolis, passed away Monday January 23. She was born on August 4 1969 in Madison, Ohio to James Calabris, and Debi Munzer Calabris. 

Gina had many struggles throughout her life, with the help of AA and Alon, family, friends and many years of hard work, Gina found her way back to

 recovery. She was very proud of her accomplishments. 

At age 16 Gina played in a band with her father and fell in love with the art of music. She enjoyed singing throughout her life whether it was local karaoke or teaching her daughters the lyrics to salt and pepper songs.

Gina loved attending church and believed she was given a second chance at life due to her relationship with God. 

Gina spent her spare time with her life partner of 30 years Jason Moore shopping, going to dinners and small road trips that she loved. They shared two beloved dogs Lovey and Stella. When she wasn't being a homemaker she was spending her time at daily AA meetings working the program to obtain her sobriety and recovery - which she was very proud of, tanning and soaking in her hot tub. She loved spending time with her daughter Julie and love being a new Nonna to her granddaughters. She believed that though she may not have it all together, together she had it all.

Gina is survived by her mother Debi Kiritsis, daughters Katye Cowles, and Julie Greger, life partner Jason Moore, sister Monica Calabris and grandchildren Aubree and Annalyse.

She is proceeded in death by her father James(Jimmy) Calabris, Grand Parents Doris Munzer and Frank James Calabris.

A Celebration of Gina'a life will be held  Saturday, February 18 at 5 PM at O'Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis,Indiana, with visitaton from 2 - 5 PM.
