Harold T. Jockish

Harold T. Jockish, 87, Greenwood, passed away March 29, 2018. Harold was born July 18, 1930, in Indianapolis, to the late Ervin and Anna (Miller) Jockish. He married Mary (Peper) Jockish on August 6, 1955. A 1949 graduate of Cathedral High School, Harold proudly served in the United States Army.

He was the second generation owner of the Indianapolis family business, Jockish Flowers, which was started by his parents in 1945. Harold was extremely dedicated to the success of the business and always put a great deal of emphasis in creating quality arrangements for his customers.

He was a founding member of St. James Catholic Church, former member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, and a founding member of SS. Francis & Clare Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. Harold enjoyed bowling, horseracing, and playing craps. He was known for his great storytelling abilities, and he will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Ervin Jockish.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary; children, Christopher Jockish, Julie (Paul) Catania, Jill (Dan) Deak, Jane (Gary) Young, Jennifer (Jack) Carr, and Joanna Jockish; sister, Marjorie Kreuzman; grandchildren, Mary Catania (Zach) Vance, Samantha (Jeff) Wilham, Logan and Zach Deak, Tom and Megan Young, David and Gracie Carr, and Paul (Kymberly) Catania, Jr.; great grandchildren, Maverick Deak, Joey and Nick Catania, and Devin Wilham.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home. On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, morning prayers will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, Greenwood. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
