Horace C. Medcalf

Horace C. Medcalf, 76, Greenwood, passed away January 3, 2020. Mr. Medcalf was born August 2, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Horace C. Medcalf, Sr. and Elizabeth Ellen Gardner.

He attended Dale High School and served in the United States Navy. He was the owner/operator of RM Success, LLC and spent many years in the construction business.
Horace was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and very proud of all of his grandchildren. A loving, family-oriented man, Horace will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality. He never knew a stranger and had a great sense of humor, making him a wonderful storyteller. Horace will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two half sisters, Velma and LaDonna.

Survivors include six daughters, Tamara (Nathan) Bowling, Kim (Ricky) Cooley, Lisa Beard, Natalie Medcalf, Nicole (Jeremy) Mendoza, and Toni (Jeff Shelburne) Pease; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren.

The visitation will be on Thursday, January 9, 2020, 4 to 8 p.m., at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 10, 2020, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. The burial and committal service will be at 2 p.m. (Central Time) at the Dale Cemetery, Dale, Indiana.
