Jared Alexander Barker

Jared Alexander Barker, 23, Indianapolis, passed away July 17, 2020, as a result of a tragic accident. Jared was born November 1, 1996, in Indianapolis, to Shannon (Elias) and Christopher Barker, who survive.

Jared graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2015 and attended Hanover College. He worked as a machine operator for 3M Company. Jared was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He loved to play basketball and video games with his friends. In addition to his loving family, Jared is survived by his dog, Buddy. Described as a goofball at times, Jared will be fondly remembered for his fun personality and great sense of humor.

His surviving family includes his parents, Shannon and Chris Barker; siblings, Austin, Haylie, Aiden, and Colton Barker; maternal grandparents, Carol and James Elias; paternal grandparents, Cindy Howard and Clyde Goolsby.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Jared Barker, Thursday, July 30, 2020, 4 to 8 p.m., at the O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2020, in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Animal Shelter, 1614 W. Edgewood Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46217.
