Linda Carole Campbell

March 5, 1948 — January 14, 2023

Indianapolis

Linda Carole Campbell, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away during the evening hours of Saturday, January 14, 2023, surrounded by her family at home after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Linda was born on March 5, 1948, in Greensburg, Indiana to the late George Raymond Lindsey and Gloria Nadine (Hudson) Pugh.

Linda graduated from Madison High School in the class of 1966, where she was active in the Photography Club, Thespians Club, Sunshine Society, and numerous other clubs. She attended Louisville Business College for business courses, and then the University of Indianapolis with computer programming and accounting as her focus. In 2004 Linda retired from bookkeeping at Terstep. Out of all her vocations, Linda was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

When not working or being devoted to her family, Linda enjoyed vacations and traveling, specifically to Florida. If there was one hobby she was truly passionate about, it was Corvettes and Corvette racing. She was a member of the Corvette Club and Women's Corvette Time Trial Racing. A funny memory that her family will always remember about her is during one race, Linda entered the track and did a lap going the wrong way!  She loved being at the racetrack, and now is racing the golden streets in heaven pain-free.

Linda was a beautiful lady who loved her family fiercely. Although her earthly battle with her health has ended, her family has faith in knowing she has the most beautiful pair of wings. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Lindsey, beloved granddaughter, Amanda Steagall, and her canine companion, Jack.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin L. Campbell whom she was united in marriage to on June 7, 2004, in Captiva Island, Florida. Linda's children, Kimberly (Gary) Vinson, Kevin (Denise) Crandell, Stepdaughters, Adrienne Rexroat and Gretchen Campbell; grandchildren, Andrew (Shannon) Steagall, Ashley Steagall, Tyler Crandell, and Joshua Crandell; step-grandchildren, Lynsy (Dustin) Grubbs, Travis Cornett, Brianna (Zach) Fields, McCauleigh Whalen, and Sophia Cordova; her great-grandchildren, Brayden Steagall, Carson Steagall, Hudson Steagall, Haiden Steagall, Mason Sleeth, and Parker Sleeth; step greatgrandchildren, Carter Grubbs, Parker Grubbs, Kayden Cornett, Spencer Fields, and Sawyer Fields; her loving pup, Coco; a host of extended family members and friends.
