Mary E. Whitsett

Mary Elizabeth Whitsett, 84, Indianapolis, passed away January 15, 2019. Mary was born August 18, 1934, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles A. and Mildred E. (Baar) Whitsett.

She graduated from St. John Academy, St. Mary of the Woods College, and earned a Master’s degree from Ball State University. She enjoyed a teaching career for many years. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mary will be fondly remembered by her family for her generous, kind and cheerful spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Whitsett.

Survivors include siblings, Angela (Clarence) Frost, David (the late Patricia) Whitsett, Sr. Therese Whitsett, S.P., Thomas (Brenda) Whitsett, Martha (John) Kremer, Christine (Charles) Stewart, and Timothy Whitsett; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019, in St. Roch Catholic Church, with visitation there from 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
