Mary Rose (Salamone) Fisher, 94, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home August 9, 2019. Mrs. Fisher was born September 6, 1924, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles P. and Mariette (Maloni) Salamone.
She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1942 and attended Butler University. Mrs. Fisher proudly served as a Wave in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and had been active in Anna’s Circle. She was also involved in the Tech High School Alumni Association through the years. Mrs. Fisher retired from Bank One and had previously been employed at Eli Lilly & Company and Wm. H. Block. She will be remembered for her never ending strength and her strong devotion to her family. She was proud of her role as the family matriarch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Fisher; sons, infant Daniel, Mark and Keith; siblings, Mario, Frank, and Florence Salamone.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Fisher and Karen Firkins; grandchildren, Steven Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Stacey Fisher Holland, Christopher Fisher, Corey Fisher, Michelle Fisher Archie, and Lucas Firkins; great grandchildren, Malia, Braydon, Madison, Peyton, Jackson, Alex, Eli, Greyson, Chloe, David, Cheyenne, and Cooper.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, 5 to 8 p.m. in the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St., Indianapolis, where morning prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, in St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
