Matilde Romero

Matilde Romero, 90, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Friday March 24, 2023. She was born in Los Cerritos, Panamá to Nemesio Romero and Natividad Nuñez.

Matilde’s greatest joy in life and her greatest love was taking care of her grandkids and great grandkids. She was an amazing seamstress who made her daughter Martha’s wedding dress and enjoyed making clothes for her granddaughter, Melissa. She was known by her neighbors and friends for her amazing empanadas, hojaldas, tamales, and arroz con pollo. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and feisty lady. She was always ready to go places whether it was to go get ice cream or to travel to see new places across the country. However, loving and taking care of her family was the highlight of her life.

Matilde is survived by her loving family, daughter Martha (Matthew) Seyler, grandchildren Melissa (Scott) Friedline, Matthew Seyler II, and great grandchildren Tyler and Caleb Friedline.

A celebration of life for Matilde will be Friday, March 31, at O’Riley Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with a service at 3:30pm. Please feel free to come dressed in blue attire as it was her favorite color.
