Robert Joseph George

Robert Joseph George, 88 of Greenwood, Indiana, died Friday, September 23 at home. He was born on April 5, 1934, in Bronxville, New York.

Robert was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and a past member of the Kiwanis in Rockville.

Robert enjoyed working in his yard, keeping it neat and trimmed. He was an armchair sports fan, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and any sporting team he was watching. His most favorite thing was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine Andrews George, children Richard (Candy) J. George, Margaret “Peg” L. (Douglas) Powers, granddaughters Haley M. George and Maria L. Powers. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Inez Letzler George, brother John “Jack” D. George.

Robert’s Life Celebration® visitation will be Tuesday, September 27 from 6 – 8 pm at O’Riley Branson Funeral Services and Crematory, 6107 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Additional visitation will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 9:30  - 11 am at Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, New Jersey, with a funeral following at 11 am. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
